Regret at opportunity wasted.

Gnawing, burning regret that defies amelioration.

A desire to avenge the darkest night of the soul.

A calendar-related impotence that has blotted out the chance for anything like true revenge.
Hatred.
Rare and abiding hatred.
Hatred that can never be mollified.
Overwhelming hatred that laps at the shores of rationality.

No it is indeed not fair..A perfectly good season shot to hell..And to Joe Bucks team no less..This misery got me through this recent slump. I hate Carlos Beltran for it. I dont give a damn how much he produces..I have only recently( believe it or not) come to terms with 88'. Yes 1988. Davys 2nd championship team..And the fact is, is that I dont want to let it go. I seem to remember more the bad than good..God help me but I just cant let go. I know I will take this to my grave. It scares the hell out me that the Mets-in the long run may be one of those teams like the Braves with a ton of division titles and little else. Phillie fans and Pirate fans know this as well..
..Sometimes its just so hard being a fan Greg. Its easier to root for a team that packed everything up in a Beakins moving truck 50 years ago and never came back. The dead cant dissapoint me.

Could be worse. I hear the games on espn2 elsewhere, we could have to listen to them rehash the playoffs, and show clips of the home run..
