Look Who's in Port!
Who’s that bearded busher? That’s no minor leaguer, but our (all but technically) own Mike Piazza, rehabbing for the Stockton Ports, the California League affiliate of the Oakland A’s. FAFIF reader Joel Lugo swung by Banner Island Ballpark Tuesday night, snapped a few photos of the Met legend and brought him a little good luck. My brother and I gave him very loud cheers…but no one can give him love like Laurie…
He looked to be in great shape, in a good mood and ready to play. The local paper had quotes saying how excited he was and how nice the ballpark was compared to the last time he played in Stockton when coming up with the Dodgers. Lot's a Mikey fans there…most in Dodger blue. But I had my road blue and blacks on. Too bad the Mets don't need a DH…
