ABOUT US
Faith and Fear in Flushing made its debut on Feb. 16, 2005, the brainchild of two longtime friends and lifelong Met fans.
Greg Prince discovered the Mets when he was 6, during the magical summer of 1969. He is a Long Island-based writer, editor and communications consultant. Contact him here.
Jason Fry is a Brooklyn writer whose first memories include his mom leaping up and down cheering for Rusty Staub. Check out his other writing here.

America the Beautiful
by Greg Prince on 5 November 2008 11:14 am
O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain
America, America
God shed His grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea

I fail to see the Met connection in this.
Also, any reason that the site thinks (based on the “previous” and “next” photos linked above) that this was posted in June 2006?
Amen.
America's National Pastime continues to be baseball.
You are truly the only person besides me who would take note of that…and I say that with respect.
(Plucked the photo from somewhere else, thought I had fixed that, guess I didn't, have now.)
