Thanks for this, Greg.
A lot of us wish we heard more of Howie. He is just as good, or better, than the TV guys, and that’s really a tribute to him.
Oh, and congrats to Pete Alonso, a true freshman rookie, and soon to be ROY.
Time he had another day off, Mickey?
I heard Gary’s call quite a few times already. This is the first time I was able to hear Howie’s. Thank you sir! LGM!
with gusto and gravitas…great call howie!
makes me all the more frustrated that albany NEW YORK carries yanks snd sox on the radio but NO METS.
Truly awesome. Great to hear, thanks Greg.
Think he’ll make the team next year?
Gary and Howie together was truly the golden age. It doesn’t, and will never get any better.
Great call by Howie. Gary’s was also heartfelt and awe-struck. Met fans have never seen anything like the Polar Bear, and no matter how this season turns out, he has made it a special one all by himself. There is something uniquely thrilling about a home run – there’s nothing like it really in sports – and Alonso’s homer heroics, his raw power, have been exhilarating.
