Faith and Fear in Flushing made its debut on Feb. 16, 2005, the brainchild of two longtime friends and lifelong Met fans.

Sky Falling at Slightly Slower Pace

According to Adam Rubin, Jose Reyes is not DL'd yet and may not have to be. The Mets are calling it tendinitis behind the right calf, a situation that can't imperil the leg. So he'll be back right away. Or soon. Or eventually. He's (drumroll, please) day-to-day.

It's the Mets and an injury. Believe what you will.

    Running it through the Mets Injury Report to Reality translator, I take it to mean he is on a respirator, his family has been notified, and told to “hurry up and get down here”. God Speed Jose Reyes, I will remember you fondly.

    You beat me to it. He will go into the ground, then onto the DL several days after that.

    At which point, if you believe in reincarnation, the Mets will list him as life-to-life.

    Does anyone remember a few years ago when someone (I want to say Paul LoDuca or Brian Schneider) was listed as “day to day” while he spent about 4 or 5 days in the hospital (which always sounds kind of serious). it was like “ya, he's still in the hospital, but he's 'day to day'”. the term “day to day” lost meaning to me after that.
    and remember that this is the same medical staff that mis-treaded Ryan Church exactly 1 year ago after his concussion in Atlanta. i lost faith in them then, and haven't regained it yet this year.

    Hi Greg,
    If it was announced that Reyes would be out for an indefinate period of time I wouldn't now be thinking there is an urgent need to find a new shortstop
    It would be more appropriate for the Wilpons to begin every injury update with “break a leg” (instead of day-to-day) since the old show business axim is that one never gets what is wished for.

    I think the treatment of Church was overblown for fun, but still.
    That was Schneider with..I believe it was an infection in his thumb? Truthfully, he _was_ day to day, as far as it goes, and he did return to the lineup shortly after leaving the hospital.
