Faith and Fear in Flushing made its debut on Feb. 16, 2005, the brainchild of two longtime friends and lifelong Met fans.

Greg Prince discovered the Mets when he was 6, during the magical summer of 1969. He is a Long Island-based writer, editor and communications consultant. Contact him here.

Jason Fry is a Brooklyn writer whose first memories include his mom leaping up and down cheering for Rusty Staub. Check out his other writing here.

Up Against the Wall

You know what goes well with a wall full of Mets baseball cards? Connecticut’s own Ryder Chasin sure does. We’re happy to see the Faith and Fear numbers complement however many hundreds of cards he has up behind him and we wish him mazel tov! this Saturday as he celebrates his Bar Mitzvah. We hear it’s […]

Metsing Up The House

The Faith and Fear t-shirt has been seen this season at Fenway, at Rogers Centre, at what is now known as Pitco, even at the Roman Colosseum. But how about this: the first “official” FAFIF shirt sighting* at the New World Class Home of the New York Mets, Citi Field? And how about Dave Murray coming all the way […]

Talk About a Caesars Club

Robert Moses patterned Shea Stadium after the Roman Colosseum, yet only one of them isn’t a parking lot today. Mark “Bluenatic” Weinstein confirmed that not all ancient ruins have been paved over when he recently parked himself and his classic FAFIF t-shirt in Rome. I wonder if anybody over there mutters, “It’s a dump, but […]

Wicked Game

The Faith and Fear t-shirt made its overdue New England debut a week ago courtesy of the KingmanFan clan, representing at the Fens in true blue and orange style. From left to right, that’s Sky himself, accompanied to Fenway by wife Lisa and daughter Lauren (their shirts are nice, too). Reports our longtime commenter, “Received […]

It's Never Too Soon to Start Counting

Maybe it’s the joy of Elimination Day, but after a week-plus of dreariness, I am once again looking forward to counting down the 37 + 14 + 41 + 42 days (more or less) until the 2008 Mets are on a field somewhere stretching and swinging and preparing to play an entire 162-game season.

Also showing not a […]

Add a 17...for Innings

Bringing the Mets good luck — and the official FAFIF shirt a good look — is Della Ziegler, a.k.a. Mrs. Lonestar Mets, lovely wife of our Texas compadre in blogging Dan. Della and Dan attended last Saturday’s Mets-‘Stros marathon at Minute Maid Park, the one that went on and on and on and on until we beat […]
