ABOUT US
Faith and Fear in Flushing made its debut on Feb. 16, 2005, the brainchild of two longtime friends and lifelong Met fans.
Greg Prince discovered the Mets when he was 6, during the magical summer of 1969. He is a Long Island-based writer, editor and communications consultant. Contact him here.
Jason Fry is a Brooklyn writer whose first memories include his mom leaping up and down cheering for Rusty Staub. Check out his other writing here.

I was no fan of Whitey Herzog’s when he was The Enemy in the middle and late 1980s. Man, did I hate those Cardinal teams, probably more than I hated the Bobby Cox Braves of the late ’90s and early 2000s, Durocher’s Cubs, Leyland’s Pirates or Charlie Manuel’s Phillies of recent vintage.
That’s a lot of […]

I have seen the past, and its name is the Mets Hall of Fame & Museum.
To all who thought the Mets loathed their own history, their self-hatred has come to a merciful end. To all who thought the Mets didn’t listen to their customers, their hearing tests came back with belated flying colors. To all […]

Four for four: the Mets went 4-for-4 today. They resumed baseball activities with a bang.
The long-rumored, long-postponed, long-hidden Mets Hall of Fame announced its class for 2010, its first class in eight years, and it’s a doozy. It’s so good I have this feeling I’m writing one of those “wouldn’t it be nice?” fictional blog […]

There was a lovely ceremony this afternoon to dedicate the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, featuring Rachel Robinson, Governor Paterson, Senator Schumer, Fred Wilpon and other dignitaries. It was more moving than you’d expect. Shea Stadium became the home office of Jackie Robinson’s legacy on this date in 1997, thus it’s right and fitting that his […]

Hall of Fame Weekend has come and gone. We won’t worry too much about Cooperstown until early January. Gil Hodges should be in. Keith Hernandez, too. We know that.
But what about the Mets Hall of Fame?
The what?
Yeah, that’s right, it exists. You’ve heard of it. Probably. Maybe. Have you seen it? It is, if it […]
